Federación Nacional de Asociaciones de Palma Africana de Honduras FENAPALMAH

FENAPALMAH is in the process of RSPO certification of associations representing smallholders. RSPO has developed a set of environmental and social criteria that companies must meet to produce Certified Sustainable Palm Oil (CSPO). When applied properly, these criteria can help minimize the negative impact of palm oil cultivation on the environment and communities in the producing regions.

It is also in the process of training in the organizational and administrative part of the organizations through SEDUCA (Secretariat of Agricultural Education, Training and Agribusiness Development). SEDUCA aims to promote the training of human resources in response to the needs arising from the demands of the agri-food sector in the face of the challenges of globalization, in order to equip the country's workforce with skills and knowledge aimed at producing and marketing in a more competitive way.

FENAPALMAH starts from the need to organize and form a representative central body, which came about after a production crisis caused by the floods and the fall in prices of crude oil in the international market, which brought the price of the fruit to very low levels.

In the year 2000 the aspiration to mount a palm oil extraction plant arises, so that in the year 2001-2002 they managed to organize the associations of producers and in 2002 the National Federation of Producers of African Palm of Honduras .

FENAPALMAH is located in Sirena, El Progreso, Honduras.
